*All membership requirements must be completed and turned in by this date, no exceptions

To be eligible for the membership, you need to:

  1. Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.

  2. Fill out the Application Form

  3. Expect an email within a few weeks to confirm your enrollment, as well as a link for you to provide a one-time $80, nonrefundable, fee which grants you a lifetime membership.

In addition, please remember that you will have to attend our Induction Ceremony later in the semester you join, in which you will formally and officially join our family. Congratulations on making the great choice to join our honor society.

*The provisional form is required if you are a new member who wishes to join, but you have not yet established a GPA (required: 3.5 GPA at least if you are out of high school) at SMC.

You are required to only pay the $10 chapter membership fee now and the $70 remainder upon being eligible to join under our requirements.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society has been recognizing and encouraging excellence among community colleges since it was founded in 1918. Today, the Society is the largest honor society in higher education with more than 2.5 million members and 1,275 chapters located in 50 states, U.S. territories, the British Virgin Islands, Canada, Germany, and the Republic of Palau. The recognition and scholarship opportunities Phi Theta Kappa brings to an institution, its faculty advisors, and most importantly its student members are incomparable to any other student organization.
